Vegetarian cooking on Texel
For the second time we took part in a cooking class in Pastorie De Waal. The almost 5 hours were a lot of fun and we were able to try out many new recipes. When choosing the menu, Wessel responded to our wishes and selected great and varied dishes that we can easily prepare again at home. For us as tourists, it was very helpful that the recipes had already been translated into German and that we were able to implement them well. Wessel also provided further tips during the preparation. When we visit Texel again, we will be happy to see if there is another opportunity for another workshop.

Friends dinner
'We were able to enjoy a delicious 4-course dinner with 16 people. The food is local and prepared with love, and you can taste it! We made the request very spontaneously, namely a day in advance. Despite this tight time frame, we were pleasantly surprised by what was on the table! Wessel and Anet clearly have a passion for their profession and we really felt like we were in a chic restaurant! If we come back to Texel, we will definitely do this again!'

Marriage on Texel
At our wedding, the “Walking dinner” provided by Wessel Holleman completed our day.
After a preparatory conversation in which Wessel took the time to see what suits us, he came up with the great idea to provide us with a "walking dinner" with beautiful Texel products.
This allowed us to continue our day without having to move everyone in our garden.
All individual dishes were a great culinary surprise. Cared for exactly in size and taste tailored for our big day. Our guests wanted to taste everything and couldn't wait for the next dish to be prepared.
An original dinner, really something different that everyone is still talking about and which we will certainly recommend to other bridal couples or groups.

Walking Dinner
We celebrated my 70th birthday on Texel in our holiday home. The Corona measures were slightly relaxed so we were able to organize something in the garden with the 15 of us. Wessel prepared a wonderful 10-course “walking dinner” for us. Texel products from the land, from the water and from the air. It cannot be more complete. Our kitchen is not large and we saw Wessel going about his business like a “cooktopus”. Like a juggler with 8 arms where every move counted. He regularly conjured up the most surprising tasteful and visual works of art. 10 courses but a well-balanced format that kept you looking forward to the next dish. We were all overwhelmed by the dinner that Wessel made, but also by the way he managed this logistically in our kitchen.

Three Wedding Dinners in France
Wow! We knew that Wessel could cook well, but what he did for us was 'out of this world'!
We had presented him with the following challenge: a lunch and dinner for 30 people, and a dinner for 80 people in a castle in the north of France during our wedding party; Use as many local products that are in season as possible. With his small team he has worked wonders - we just kept enjoying and everyone with us. It's that we're not getting married again, but we'll probably find another excuse to let Wessel cook for us again.

Walking Lunch

Mediterranean Buffet
In 2019 my husband and I both turned 65 and decided to throw a big party in May. We were given the tip to have the catering provided by the Rectory and we really liked that:
In consultation a buffet menu has been put together with something for everyone: also for vegetarians and even vegans sufficient choice and at a very reasonable price. Wessel and Anet provided a great service on the day itself: everything was taken care of for us so that we could party and eat. In short, great!
